Saving the Charitable Sector from its COVID Crisis

The charitable sector has not been spared by the sharp decline in economic activity brought on by COVID-19, write Sean Speer and Brian Dijkema in a memo to the Department of Finance. These "shock absorbers" for society need support in order to continue their crucial work.

"We recommend that the federal and provincial governments adopt a matching funds model as the primary means of allocating and distributing immediate-term support to Canadian charities."
