Richard is a charity lawyer (http://www.lawyerforcharities.ca/)  from Middleton in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. He entered the law profession while living on Vancouver Island in the early 1990s and eventually moved to Nova Scotia with his family and joined the Nova Scotia Bar in 2006.

In this interview, he reflects on the legal and social aspects of charity in Canada including the role of hybrid organizations. Comparisons are made between Canada, the UK, China and Italy in terms of how a thriving not-for-profit sector might be supported.
